SUMMARY:Textile Exchange Animal Fibers Roundtable
DESCRIPTION:The Animal Fibers Round Table (AFRT) Summit will be held on the last day of the Natural Fibre Connect Conference and will address three areas of focus:\n\nThe new Textile Exchange unified standard;\nthe updated Textile Exchange definition of preferred materials and\nhow we as an industry can improve uptake of preferred wool.\n\nThe AFRT Summit will include presentations to introduce these topics, but the main focus will be interactive workshop-style sessions, allowing participants to get involved, ask questions, provide feedback to Textile Exchange, and network with one another.\nUnified standard\nThe second public review period for the new Textile Exchange unified standard is likely to align with the timing for NFC. We will highlight and discuss the key changes made in the animal fibre standards both for animal welfare and land management and encourage feedback from attendees.\nDefinition of preferred\nTextile Exchange has updated the definition of preferred materials to more closely align with Climate+ outcomes. We will discuss what the progression towards preferred means for animal fibres.\nIncreasing supply of preferred wool\nBuilding on the definitions for preferred wool we will look at the potential to improve the uptake of wool that delivers environmental and animal welfare benefits with conversations about how different sections of the supply chain can support this.\n \nImportant Notice Regarding Event Registrations\nWe’d like to clarify that registering for the NFC conference does not automatically enroll you in all other associated sessions, such as the Textile Exchange Round Table or the European Animal Fibre Round Table. Each event requires a separate registration. We’ve noticed some attendees assume that signing up for the NFC conference grants access to all associated sessions, but this is not the case. For organisational purposes, it is helpful if you can sign up for all the sessions you are interested in participating in by adding the respective ‘free’ ticket to our registration.\nIf you’re interested in attending the Textile Exchange Round Table or any other associated session, please ensure you register for each event individually. We apologize for any confusion and appreciate your understanding. If you have any questions or need further clarification, please don’t hesitate to contact us.\n
