About Speaker
Willy Gallia is the third generation of a Textile family. He is a prominent figure in the field of sustainability, particularly in the wool industry. He currently serves as the Group Sustainability Manager and Senior Trader at The Schneider Group, a global producer of high-quality wool, cashmere, and other natural fibers.
In his role, Gallia is responsible for implementing the sustainability strategy of the entire group. This includes supporting the Authentico Integrity Scheme and Life Cycle Assessment activities, as well as organizing the Natural Fibre Connect Conference. He is also in charge of following important clients and markets in the sales department. Prior to his current position, he held the role of Sustainability & Commercial Manager at Fuhrmann Argentina, which is the Argentine branch of the Schneider Group. There he followed its strategies in sustainability, communication, stakeholder engagement, and business development.
Gallia’s commitment to sustainability extends beyond his professional role. He is currently sitting in multiple working groups, such as the Regenerative Framework working group and the Unified Standards Working group of Textile Exchange; the Standard Improvement Committee of the SFA; the Sustainability Working Group of the IWTO amongst others.
Before joining Schneider head office, Gallia worked for the Fuhrmann Argentina wool company, which is the Argentine branch of the group. He is a graduate in Business Administration from Regent’s University of London. His work and dedication to sustainability have made him a respected figure in the industry. His efforts reflect his belief that being at the forefront of sustainability means acting ethically and being innovators or early adopters.
