Natural Fibre Connect (NFC) is an alliance between leading alpaca, cashmere, mohair and wool organisations. The NFC logo represents each of these four natural fibres, woven together by their shared goals and challenges as well as their commitment to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals – as seen by its resemblance to the SDG17 icon.
The goal of NFC is a world with more natural fibres by 2030. Through its events, NFC enables consensus building as well as sharing and understanding of the growers’ and herders’ perspectives.

Natural Fibre Connect – Important Update
Natural Fibre Connect will be postponed to April 2027.
Following careful consideration, the organising committee has decided to reschedule the conference due to current global conditions affecting international participation.
In recent months, ongoing geopolitical tensions, travel uncertainty, and rising costs – particularly around flights and logistics – have had a noticeable impact on international participation at the scale required for a global gathering of this nature. As a global platform that brings together the international natural fibre community, Natural Fibre Connect relies on strong cross-border engagement to drive meaningful exchange, collaboration, and impact. At present, we do not believe the conditions are right to achieve this in a way that fully reflects the conference’s purpose and ambition.
This decision has been made with the long-term positioning of the conference in mind, ensuring that when we reconvene in 2027, NFC delivers the depth of participation and engagement the industry expects and deserves.
We remain committed to Natural Fibre Connect and look forward to welcoming the global natural fibre community in 2027.

In-Person Conference
The NFC 2026 in‑person event will take place in Port Elizabeth (Gqeberha) at the Boardwalk Hotel Convention Centre and at the Drostdy Hotel in Graaff Reinet, South Africa. South Africa is the leading producer of mohair in the world and the biggest contributor to sustainably certified wool. Attendees will be taken to the root of the supply chain, the farmer, where it all begins, and will have the opportunity to visit the heart of South African animal fibre production in the Karoo. This is the ideal setting for a conference on the future of natural fibres.
What to Expect
Scheduled from 1 – 5 June 2026, NFC 2026 offers a week of thought‑provoking sessions, guided tours, and networking opportunities with industry leaders, collaborators, and potential customers. Attendees will have the opportunity to visit mohair and wool farms and experience first-hand what it takes to be a farmer in the karoo. Port Elizabeth (Gqeberha) and Graaff Reinet are surrounded by Safari opportunities where you will be able to see the Big 5!
