Chas Hubbard
Retired Senior Executive & Heritage Skills Ambassador
About Speaker
After several years in the field of vocational skills development, Charles “Chas” Hubbard became the Chair of the Sustainable Fibre Alliance (SFA) in 2017, serving in this capacity for five years until 2022. During this time, he oversaw the introduction of Codes of Good Practice for herding communities in Mongolia, bringing consistency to the care of animals through the Animal Welfare Code of Practice and structure to the management of pastures through the Rangeland Stewardship Code of Practice. Since retiring as Chair, Chas has followed closely the development of the skills base required to ensure that pastureland is managed in a sustainable way. This and the preservation of heritage skills are still close to his heart.
